I enjoy helping men and women who are stuck or struggling with life problems find answers to live a happier more fulfilled life.I have over 15 years of varied experience as a clinician, coach, consultant, researcher, and educator in the fields of higher education and mental health.What distinguishes me from other coaches is not only my education and employment but my personal experiences. Throughout my life, I have faced adversity, trauma, tragedy, and significant sources of stress. I’ve experienced financial hardships, unemployment, and poor debt management. I’ve overcome academic performance issues (motivation and procrastination), career setbacks, and career changes. I’ve also learned to manage family conflict, difficult relationships, parenting troubles, and creating meaningful connections.I can help you build resilience to better adapt to difficult or challenging life experiences. I’ve learned how to develop healthy routines to reduce stress and cope with worry. I can encourage you take responsibility and avoid making excuses by distinguishing between external and internal demands. It’s also important to learn from past mistakes, errors, and losses to help maintain a present or future-oriented mindset. I can also support you to persist despite failure by managing fear and practicing risk-taking. Most importantly, I can collaborate with you to create goals and strategies that align with your beliefs and values.My qualifications include a doctorate in applied clinical psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where I researched the relationship between parental education and the motivational practices of Latino parents. Additionally, I have a master's degree in clinical psychology from Antioch University, as well as a bachelor's degree in international business from Loyola Marymount University. My clinical experience includes working at several hospitals including St. Francis Medical Center and UCLA Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital. My academic experience includes working at Pasadena City College, Alliant International University, and UC Irvine.
